Before you fill a basket from your favourite Pakistani stores, it helps to know what can travel. Most of what people order ships without any trouble. A few things are refused by international couriers, and a few more are fine to send but can be held up by customs in your country.
What ships easily
- Clothes: unstitched suits, ready-to-wear, formals, bridal outfits, kurtas, abayas and children's clothes.
- Shoes, bags and accessories: khussas, sandals, clutches and fabric bags.
- Artificial jewellery: bangles, earrings and sets without precious stones or gold.
- Books and stationery: Urdu novels, children's books, Quran and Islamic books.
- Home textiles: bedsheets, cushion covers, table linen and prayer mats.
- Gifts and handicrafts: wooden and onyx items (packed carefully), truck art and embroidered pieces.
What we can't ship
Couriers refuse some items because they are dangerous in the air or tightly controlled at borders. We cannot ship:
- Liquids, perfume and anything flammable, including attar, nail polish, hair oils and aerosols.
- Gold and jewellery with precious stones.
- Food: sweets, spices, pickles, dry fruit and homemade food.
- Medicines, including herbal and homeopathic remedies.
- Electronics with batteries: phones, power banks, trimmers and anything with a built-in battery.
If a parcel for you contains one of these, we will let you know on WhatsApp and agree with you what to do with it. Please check before you order, because returning items to a Pakistani store is not always possible.
Customs in your country
Every country sets its own rules on imported goods, and customs may charge duty or tax on parcels above a certain value. These charges are set by your country, not by us or the courier, and the rules change from time to time. A few habits help:
- Keep your receipts. Customs may ask what the items cost.
- Describe items honestly. We list the contents on the customs form as they are.
- Split very large orders. If a big order would go over your country's limit, ask us whether two smaller boxes make more sense.
If you are unsure about anything, ask us on WhatsApp before you order. It is far easier to check first than to sort out a held parcel.
Packing that survives the journey
When your parcels arrive, we remove bulky outer packaging, fold clothes flat and protect anything delicate. Embellished outfits are folded with the embroidery inside to protect the stones and threads. Fragile gifts are wrapped separately. The goal is a box that is as light as it can be and arrives looking the way it left.
