Lawn Suits Wholesale: Unstitched or Ready-Made Stock for Your Shop?

· 3 min read

Buying lawn suits wholesale to resell abroad? Compare unstitched and ready-made (pret) stock: cost, sizing, shipping weight, what sells when, and how to buy Pakistani lawn in bulk without the usual mistakes.

Every spring, Pakistani brands launch their lawn collections and customers abroad start asking their local sellers: "Have you got the new lawn?" If you resell Pakistani clothes, lawn is probably your biggest season. The question is whether to stock it unstitched or ready-made.

Unstitched lawn: the classic wholesale buy

An unstitched lawn suit is usually a 3-piece: printed or embroidered shirt fabric, a dupatta (lawn, chiffon or silk) and plain or printed trouser fabric.

Why resellers like it

  • No sizes. One piece fits every customer, so you never hold the wrong sizes.
  • Light and flat. Around half a kilo per suit, folded flat: cheap to ship in bulk.
  • Easy to describe. Customers know what a 3-piece lawn suit is.

The catch

  • Your customer needs a tailor. Many abroad don't have one, or don't trust theirs.
  • Popular prints sell out in Pakistan within days of launch, so you have to buy fast.
  • Competition is fierce, and customers can compare brand prices online.

Ready-made (pret) lawn: faster to sell, harder to get right

Ready-made lawn is stitched into a kurta or a full suit, ready to wear.

Why it sells

  • Customers can wear it the day it arrives, which matters abroad.
  • You can charge more for the convenience and the stitching.
  • Younger customers increasingly prefer pret.

The catch

  • You need a size range, and sizing differs between makers. Agree a size chart in inches before you order.
  • Unsold sizes become dead stock. Start with a sensible size split (more M and L than XS and XXL, depending on your customers) and adjust from your sales.
  • Stitching takes time, so order earlier than you would for unstitched.

A third way: unstitched fabric, stitched to your size chart

Many resellers now buy lawn unstitched in Pakistan and have it stitched to their own size chart before it ships. You get the prints your customers want, the fit you can promise, and consistent sizing across brands. It costs more than unstitched, but you can charge for ready-to-wear, and your returns drop.

This is the kind of order our studio in Lahore takes on for boutiques: you choose the suits, we stitch them to your chart in a style you pick (straight shirts with trousers, A-line kurtas, co-ord sets), check every piece and ship them together.

What it costs to get lawn to your shop

Whatever you buy, calculate the landed cost per suit:

  • the price of the suit in Pakistan
  • stitching, if any
  • shipping per suit (total shipping divided by the number of suits)
  • import duty and tax at your end, if they apply
  • an allowance for pieces that don't sell

Because shipping is charged by weight, and the price per kilo usually falls as the box gets heavier, a single consolidated box of 30 to 40 suits is far cheaper per suit than several small parcels. See our shipping calculator for a guide.

When to buy lawn for resale

  • February to April: the main lawn launches. Buy early: the best designs go first.
  • Eid: lawn and festive lawn sell strongly in the weeks before Eid.
  • June to August: summer sales. Good for value stock, though popular designs are gone.

Frequently asked questions

What is the wholesale price of Pakistani lawn suits?

It varies widely: market unstitched lawn costs far less than branded or embroidered lawn, and prices change with the season and the exchange rate. Compare suppliers on the landed cost per suit delivered to your door, not on the price in Pakistan.

Can I buy branded lawn suits wholesale?

Most big brands sell at retail prices rather than wholesale, but many resellers buy during brand sales and launches. Wholesale markets in Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad sell unbranded and lesser-known labels at lower prices.

How many lawn suits fit in a 10 kg box?

Roughly 20 unstitched 3-piece lawn suits, depending on the dupatta fabric and how they're packed. We remove bulky packaging and fold suits flat to fit more.

Is unstitched or ready-made better for a new seller?

Unstitched is simpler to start with, because there are no sizes to get wrong. Add ready-made once you know your customers' sizes, or have unstitched suits stitched to your own size chart.
